Art openings and crawls are where Tulsa's creative community actually gathers, and the crowd they pull skews curious, inclusive, and interesting in the specific way that people who show up for art tend to be. Walk slowly through the space. Look at everything for longer than feels strictly necessary. If something genuinely stops you, take the time to figure out why. The queer community's relationship with visual art is long and well-documented: we have always been in the studios, the galleries, and the front row at openings. This is your crowd. Show up and find each other. Buy something if you can. Talk to the artist if they're there, because most of them genuinely want to talk to you. That is what these evenings are for.
