Tulsa's Legendary Midnight Drags at Tulsa Raceway Park, and yes, these are car drags, not the drag you were thinking of. Big engines. Green lights. Tulsa's outdoor street drag racing tradition happens monthly at the Raceway Park, and if you have never stood in a crowd while a car does something that probably shouldn't be legal and the crowd collectively loses its mind about it, you have been missing a specific kind of spectacular that is worth your time. The queer community has a long and underappreciated love of loud, fast, remarkable things, and this event delivers on all three simultaneously. The midnight start means you're staying out past your usual limit, which is honestly part of the point. Bring closed-toe shoes and a friend who won't try to make you leave before the night actually gets going. Being fabulous and appreciating horsepower are not in conflict. They never have been.
